This 2 bedroom 1.5 bath house for an infill site maximizes space on a small lot.
I'm excited to welcome a new firm to Houseplans.comc -- Minnesota-based Hive Modular. Their designs are fresh and contemporary and very practical, aimed at maximizing infill lots in older neighborhoods as well as larger sites. Here's an example, compact 1,203 sq. ft. Plan 909-3, shown above, the main floor layout is below.
The layout is open and flexible. The larger Plan 909-4 offers 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in a rectilinear design that includes a spacious entertaining porch and screen porch off the great room at the back of the house.
This layout puts the living-dining area and kitchen at the center, between the two bedroom wings.
The Hive Modular team consists of architects Marc Asmus, Bryan Meyer, and Paul Stankey. Their approach is to
make efficient and clever use of space in order to maximize function and so a house can live bigger than its actual size. They create a livable Modernism by including both grand and intimate spaces and by using a variety of warm materials inside and out. They been widely published in books and magazines.
Marc, Bryan, and Paul -- Welcome to our Houseplans.com hive!
